Problem statement
How can we revitalize the IAMBRUÁ Ecommerce Experience & amplify their customer’s connection to the IAMBRUÁ brand ?
The challenge
The challenge was to accurately capture the essence of the refreshed IAMBRUÁ re-branding through the website design, fostering brand consistency, alignment, visibility, and community engagement.
Goals
The goal was to create an online shopping experience that reflects the brand’s refreshed look and feel, while strengthening the connection with their customers. In addition to the website redesign, I identified an opportunity to further engage with the IAMBRUÁ community through the use of augmented reality. This led to the creation of an augmented reality (AR) Instagram filters, enhancing the brand experience and connecting with their community on a deeper level.
Lessons learned
Mobile first: During the project, I encountered the challenge of maintaining design consistency on the mobile version of the webpage due to limited space. To address this, I learned the importance of adopting a mobile-first approach in the design process. By prioritizing mobile design from the beginning, I am able to ensure optimal usability on different devices and avoid overcrowding the mobile version with excessive elements.
Real content: I also learned the importance of creating designs that would accommodate various types of images while maintaining optimal contrast and visibility. Struggling with this thought me to adopt using real (brand) content in my design process instead of placeholder content.

Intake interview
What
To kickstart the project, I conducted an in-depth intake interview with the client.
Why
- The purpose was to understand their specific needs, requirements, and vision for the IAMBRUÁ ecommerce website
- To understand what makes IAMBRUÁ ‘tick’.
- Get familiar with the IAMBRUA re-branding.
Results
The intake interview provided me valuable insights that guided the design process and ensured alignment with the client’s vision, resulting in a clear direction for website redesign.

Visual Research
What
As this was my first experience designing an ecommerce website, I began by conducting a brief market research, examining various ecommerce sites.
Why
- To familiarize myself with different types of ecommerce platforms, user interface patterns, and industry standard.
- To explore industry trends, and gain inspiration to inform the design concepts for the IAMBRUÁ website.
Results
I gained a better understanding of the ecommerce landscape and identified common design elements and features used by successful ecommerce platforms.
Materialize: How can it be visualized?
Wireframing & Redesign
What
To outline the content and functionality of the IAMBRUÁ website, I started by creating grayscale wireframes. These wireframes provided a blueprint for the layout and structure of the IAMBRUÁ website.

- To work closely with the IAMBRUÁ team,
- To align the client’s vision with the brand’s refreshed identity.
Results
The website now features a visually striking and user-friendly interface that showcases IAMBRUÁ’s products in an engaging manner. I incorporated vibrant colors such as bright pink and golden yellow to match their imagery, and a visually appealing product showcase to highlight IAMBRUÁ’s unique offerings.
By delivering the appropriate design files and providing assistance to the web developer, the IAMBRUÁ website was brought to life according to the envisioned design.
Augmented Reality filter
What
Recognizing the potential to differentiate IAMBRUÁ and foster a stronger connection with their community, I utilized the synergy between their brand identity and technology to create an engaging experience.
Why
- To further enhance the brand experience and connect with the IAMBRUÁ community, I conceptualized and developed an AR Instagram filter. This filter allowed users to virtually try on IAMBRUÁ products, creating a fun and interactive experience
Results
The ‘Snow’ AR Instagram filter I created for IAMBRUÁ incorporates multiple face trackers, three distinct mash variations and was developed using Spark AR by Meta.
The Results
By leveraging technology and social media platforms, IAMBRUÁ is now able to engage with their community in a novel way, encouraging user-generated content and fostering a sense of connection and excitement.
